Foods


As usual, every Monday and Wednesday, Shir Ley and I will end up in the kitchen for the whole afternoon. (Sometime night as well)... I tried to cook Pumpkin Rice yesterday night.. although it doesn't really look that nice but my housemates said is nice lo. but I feel at least is better than mom's pumpkin rice.. =P hehe..Mom, I can cook for you when I go back.



Today we did Tau Fu Fa, to show to our "si fu" that we are those will do what we learn, not going to waste his effort. hehe.. Come.. teach you how to do "Tau Fu Fa" now. First of all, soak the soy bean overnight. Although we bought the exactly same brand soy bean as "si fu", the bean don't absorb and expand to the size it should be.. even "si fu" wonder why when he helped us check out yesterday. It doesn't matter anyway.

Put in the soy bean to the blender and add tap water of 1:1 ratio and blend it.
Pour the mixture into the pot with filter bag.

Gently squeeze the filter bag til the residue in the filter bag is dry. Then pour the residue back to the blender, add water again with the same ratio and blend. Then repeat the steps of squeezing the mixture into the bag. Throw away the waste this time.

Boil the soya bean and add sugar during this process.. MUST add, if not the soya bean won't have taste at all. Trust me on this, I tasted it without sugar. If you just want to drink soya bean, don't add gelatin in this process. For the quantity of sugar, for this small pot, we added 3 spoon sugars and 1 spoon of gelatin.. the normal spoon. It really vary with the sweetness you want, the more gelatin you put, the texture will turn out to be more like jelly.

It is very important in this boiling process, coz once it starts boiling, it will overflow extremely fast!!! Scoop off the foam formed constantly during the boiling process so that you can watch the boiling clearly. Once you see some bubble foaming, immidiately switch off the fire supply. IF it really happened to over flow or going to over flow, quickly remove the whole pot away from the heat supply first b4 you switch off the fire supply.


Next to check whether the soya bean will solidify or not, scoop a spoon and set it aside and wait a while ( approximately 15 minutes I guess). If it does solidify, means that pot of tau fu fa is okay, if not, reboil the soya bean and add more gelatin. Set the pot aside and wait for it to solidify before put it into fridge. That's all.

If it is not sweet enough, prepare some sugar syrup for it. To make it even more perfect, prepare some gula melaka syrup.

Shir ley cooked very nice chicken porridge for dinner tonight.. hehe..


To thank her for the nice dinner, I made dessert ( the truth is my mouth itchy, Shir Ley said I need Mopiko somemore lo.. very sweat).. Simple dessert.. I just like things to be nicely present.


If I have the time, I most probably want to try to cook pumpkin soup this weekend. Pinny, wait for my Pumpkin feast ya~

Happy Birthday, Bernice


It has been store in my subconcious mind that, whenever April is near, all the April babies birthdays will bombard my memory. From 8th brother Yew Siong, 9th Marie, 12th Shu Fern, 14th Patric... till...

20th of April, a date that I will never forget... is Bernice's birthday!

haha.. since secondary school, all this birthdays has been 'haunting' me =P that I remember it well in my brain. No matter how busy I am, that I tend to forget some birthday.. I'll never forget 20th of April.

I won't go through again on
how important she is in my life,
how lovely she is,
how great is her,
and how much I miss her.

I realize is getting harder each time for me to describe to others how's she is like and how important is she in my life.. and how she has been supporting me in my life.

I wanted to call you at Dublin 12am sharp, however I was stuck in the lecture hall that time. By the time I was out of the lectures, is already sleeping hours of Dublin.

Most important thing is to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Enjoy your life in Ireland~

Foods~



Hehe.. very lazy to blog... Easter break coming~ but so many assignments and reports due just after Easter break.. sigh..

Since the day I reach Melbourne, I think I haven't really sit down and enjoy my breakfast. Breakfast is always sandwich.. most of the time is muesli and milk, muesli bar.. or some fruits.. with milk and coffee. So that day, I just can't resist anymore.. I bought bacon~ So Shir Ley and I had English breakfast this 2 days.. hehe..

Today, we even had it with web radio, My FM to accompany us.. Feel so homy~ Is just like a Sunday morning at home, enjoying breakfast..

missing my piano...

okay okay. update update.. haha

Internet here is pretty bad, especially this few days.. We don't understand why either. Yesterday night, I was running up and down more than ten times just to reset the router.. Yet.. it is still unstable at the end, that I gave up and decided to give it a pass. So, I am sorry and wish you will understand that I will get dc from my msn very often... and might not even return by that day itself.

I am surprised by myself though. I admit that I have internet addiction. However compare back to Malaysia, I didn't get frustrated and angry when it get disconnected.. just .. sigh.. again.. maybe because I just can't do anything with it. Back in Malaysia, the line is a lot better.. atleast.. if you don't do heavy usage ( according to a friend, when heavy usage, although they said unlimited, still the line slow like hell either). haha. I not sure, the only thing I know is.. if I can't get connected back in Malaysia.. I'll just call that number and it will be done in less than 5 minutes time.

For those who worry I don't know how to feed myself, don't worry. I'll be fat here.. Guess no one run away from that 'fate'. I was not tempted to eat tim tam, no chocolate, no ice-cream.. I just not that into too sweet stuff.. But... that day... I saw this Chocolate Chips Cookies. Although is more expensive then the others, I just can't resist to buy it. There goes my healthy life without junk food.. bye bye.. Must learn to say 'no' to supper.. yet.. always feel so hungry at night.. sigh.. Must find back the determination to stay with my proper meals.

Went to Syndal to try Thai Buffet last Saturday, is a restaurant named "Rose of Thailand". The curry is nice, of course is not spicy for Aseans.. coz they need to suit Australian taste buds. The food is nice. and is those homy feel type of restaurant... as in not very commercialize feel.. very unique place I would say.

Then we went to walk around in the city... while waiting others to finish their shopping from Smith Street. Then went Lygon for dinner and gelato.. I tried roche and tiramisu previously.. and.. I can't finish it.. coz is just too sweet.. very jelak.. Tried Durian which surprised me. Normally I don't take by-product of durian, coz I find it always have some weird taste. This one is quite okay.. quite nice. Tried Bailey, Lemon, Rum and raisin.. Rum and raisin is quite nice though. Lemon is very refreshing.. Roche can give it a try.

Then we went Crown casino, and I think we were all tired by the time we were there.. Just look around, play around, took photo around. Bought Milfie and Chocolate Mud Cake from Greco back home.. Milfie is nice.. thumb up! Chocolate Mud Cake.. I forgotten to microwave it before I eat.. so is not that nice. However, when Shir ley microwaved hers.. Think we just reheat it too long.. that... it doesn't taste nice either.. haha.. So next time, we shall just go that place, sit down and enjoy the mud cake instead.

Weather here fluctuate.. and is superb hot today. When I was walking back home around 5 something today, it stated is 30 degree celcius.. and is going to rain tomorrow according to the forecast. I guess weather around the world is causing people sick.

Friends in Malaysia, Singapore, Ireland... even in Australia.. my housemate fall sicks as well.. :(

Must take care ya.. I'll take good care myself so that I don't fall sick as well.
No worry about me.
